GREENWOOD NEGOTIATES WITH WAL-MART FOR ROAD REPAIR
Construction on the new Center Grove area Wal-Mart hasn’t started as scheduled and won’t start until the city has reached agreements on costs. Greenwood is seeking funding for road improvements, which is specifically needed to improve the roads due to traffic to the new store. The city is currently negotiating with Wal-Mart Stores Inc. on how much the company should pay for road improvements. Work on the new store at Smith Valley Road and State Road 135 was supposed to already be underway, but work may not start until October.
