POLICE ARREST WOMAN FOR FORGERY
An Indianapolis woman was arrested earlier this week for attempting to use counterfeit money at the Greenwood Park Mall. According to police, Lakenya McKinney, 30, was trying to buy clothes in the mall with a $100 bill. A store employee noticed that the watermark was of Abraham Lincoln, who is on the $5 bill, not the $100 bill. After the employee refused the counterfeit bill, McKinney left the store. When security officers found her in a different store, she attempted to flee and shoved a security worker. McKinney was arrested on charges of forgery and battery and was also wanted on a warrant out of Marion County. She was taken to the Johnson County Jail and held without bond.
