INDIANAPOLIS POLICEMAN FATALLY SHOT OVERNIGHT
A five-year veteran of the Indianapolis Police Department was killed in a shooting on the city’s northwest side around 2:30 a.m. today. Officer Rod Bradway was shot twice while forcing his way into an apartment to help a screaming woman. Bradway was taken to Wishard Hospital where he died a short time later. The suspect was killed at the scene. A woman and children were uninjured and removed from the home. Police officials say they investigated domestic disturbances at the apartment before. Bradway was highly decorated and was a past recipient of the medal of bravery. This is the fourth time in 10 years an Indianapolis policeman has been shot in the line of duty.
