ANOTHER IMPD OFFICER SHOT, RECOVERING IN HOSPITAL
For the second time in less than a week, an Indianapolis police officer has been shot in the line of duty. Officials say four-year veteran Greg Stevens is expected to make a full recovery, and he is being treated at Wishard Hospital. Stevens was shot in his leg as he entered the courtyard of the Greenway Apartments at 21st and Ritter streets just after midnight. The suspect, Charles Williams, 22, of Gary, was shot by a second officer providing back-up. Williams has been charged with attempted murder and carrying a handgun without a license.
