FLU SEASON PREPARATIONS UNDERWAY
County health department officials say it’s time to begin flu season preparations. Flu season peaks in January and February, but outbreaks can occur as early as October. Those with the highest risk of contracting the virus are senior citizens, young children and people with chronic health conditions. In Bartholomew County, walk-in clinics are scheduled for Oct. 1 and 7 from 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the Bartholomew County Health Department on State Street. In Jackson County, immunizations for children, newborn through five years old, are done by appointment on Wednesdays, and immunizations for residents five years and older are by appointment on Mondays and Tuesdays.
