CONVICTED MAN STRUGGLES AGAINST OFFICERS IN COURT
An Edinburgh man facing jail time fought security guards after being convicted by a Circuit Court jury for child molesting. Michael Sloan, 24, was revoked of bond and ordered to be held until sentencing. When he asked to hug his family, who were present, the judge refused. Sloan resisted courthouse security to the point of officers using a Taser twice on him. Eventually, officers regained control of Sloan. He was transported to the Johnson County Jail. EMS was called to assist his mother, Paula Johnson-Smith, who had collapsed from chest pain during the court hearing. No other injuries were reported.
