SHUTDOWN DELAYS INTERCHANGE WORK
The Worthsville Road widening project in Greenwood has been delayed due to the federal government shutdown. The Army National Guard planned to dismantle a former concrete plant and continuing their work that began in the summer. The former Prairie Materials plant has sat unused for years east of U.S. 31 and will need to be demolished for the widening project. Until the government stalemate is over, the project is delayed. The widening is a component of preparations for the new I-65 interchange in Greenwood.
