FEDERAL FOOD AID CUTS BEGIN TOMORROW
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits will be cut tomorrow for about 900,000 Hoosiers. The temporary extra benefit was part of the recovery act of 2009. The benefit for a family of four will drop by $36 per month, or $432 per year. Local food banks are seeking increased donations to prepare for the holiday season. State agencies are prepared to answer questions from program recipients.
